2005 7^th Grade Essay Contest
Guidelines & Rules

The 2005 Multicultural Fest Parade will award two-thousand dollars for the best essays on a topic To Be Announced. Prizes will be split between the winning schools and the winning students.

All SEVENTH-GRADE STUDENTS who attend a public or private school located within the S.B.I.S.D. geographical area. Ask your English or Social Studies teachers.

Prizes and awards will be given at the “2005 Christmas Posada” on December 15, 2004 at Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market (7960 Long Point). The awards include cash donations from Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and gift certificates donated by Memorial City Mall (good at any store inside the mall).

Winning Essay Awards

• Typed in English, Double-spaced on the computer. Print and electronic versions to be submitted.
   
• Length: Minimum of 1,200 words, maximum of 2,000 words.
   
• Deadline: November 12th, 2004.
   
• Include bibliography stating the sources of information. Bibliography will not be included in the word count.
   
• Submitting the essay authorizes the Multicultural Fest Committee the use and rights of the winning essays for advertising and printing.
