The registration date for entering a
float in the 2004 Spring Branch Multicultural Parade has been
extended to Sept. 24 for the Oct. 2 parade, according to
Victor Alvarez, chairman of the multicultural festival
committee.
Alvarez also announced that the committee has added
$2,000 in prizes for the top three floats entered by a public
or private school in the Memorial/Spring Branch area.
The
first-place float will receive $1,000, second-place $700 and
third-place $300. Each also will receive a
trophy.
Civic associations and churches also may win
prizes for the top three floats in their category.
The
prize schedule is the same as for the school winners: $1,000
for first, $700 for second and $300 for third. Each will
receive a trophy as well.
In addition, trophies will be
awarded to the overall winner in the non-professional,
non-commercial category and the overall winner in the
professional or commercial category.
The awards will be
